Code:
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]The other primary difference is that Sailfish has more advanced user features, and [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]less "hold me by the hand" and "first run experience" features. Off the top of my [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]head [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Multi-colored printing with Pause @ Zpos which allows you to tell the printer to [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]pause when it reaches a given height so that you can change the filament out (e.g., [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]switch colors) [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Ditto printing for dual extruders (e.g., make two copies at the same time) [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Print another (at the end of a print, you can just tell it to do it again) [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Override GCode temperature which allows you to override the temps in the gcode [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]so that you don't have to go and edit the gcode. Definitely useful when switching [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]between PLA and ABS. [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Adjust the printing speed while printing [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Pause with or without the heaters on [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- On Rep 2's a scrolling status ticker of assorted stats while the build is running. [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Support for SD card folders [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Support for long SD card file names. (MBI just dropped the max length to 19 + 4; [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]we just raised it to 64.) [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Filament odometers to see how much filament a print uses, f2ilament usage since "trip" [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]odometer last reset, and lifetime filament usage [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Store multiple printing profiles in the bot. Again, useful when you want to have [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]different setups for PLA vs. ABS vs. whatever. [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- Superior levelling script (simpler is sometimes better) [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]- For thing-o-matics with LCD displays there's a very rich set of features, beyond [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]even what's on a Rep 1 or Rep 2. [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]The next release should have the ability to control the print temperature while [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]printing. It already has SD card error detection and correction. (Rep 1's have [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]an electrical noise problem associated with the communication between the motherboard [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]and the tiny microprocessor within the SD card. This will help detect errors and [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]correct them. That, in turn, means reduction or elimination of one of the sources [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]of print failures. This feature will be present in the firmware for all bots, and [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]not just the Rep 1. The Rep 2 may be susceptible to this problem as well -- the [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]jury is still out on that one.) [/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Arial]And then I could get into very nitty, gritty technical details but I'll spare you. [/FONT][/COLOR]

Never touch a running system".
